About Us

Aagantuk Homestay is a boutique home stay nested in a quiet neighbourhood close to the heart of the city. It’s a fully furnished three-bedroom house with kitchen and a generous living room in our family house. It’s an ideal place to relax and enjoy the holiday time with friends and family. The house looks out at the iconic Bhujiyo Hill to the east and a garden and the cityscape to the west.

Being centrally located most basic needs while travelling such as pharmacy, clinics, provision stores, street food etc can be found in less than 1 Km radius.

Our kitchen is equipped to cook a light meal after a long day of being on the move. Our home is part of a family home and is on the second floor, which could be a hindrance for old age guests and guests who are differently abled. Beena Vaghela: Host & Proprietor

Running a home needs one to play many roles. Hosting friends and family is among the most demanding roles from making living arrangements, decide the right menu and making one feel at home. Over the years Beena has followed her passion for cooking elaborate meals and baking different types of homemade bread.

Beyond running a home and cooking, things that Beena loves to do are floriculture, gardening and stained glass. Over the years she has been growing organic & natural fruits and vegetables at her mud house in the outskirts of Bhuj.

Kiran Vaghela: Co-host

Kiran Vaghela is a civil engineer by education but is a self-taught architect, designer and an innovator. Kiran has worked with many artisan communities in Kachchh and around the world for disaster relief and he taps into the skills of the artisans and their indigenous knowledge of resilient building systems to innovate it for contemporary application. In his 35-year professional journey he has undertaken projects of varied scale and nature and is a key Founding Director at Hunnarshala Foundation for Building Technology and Innovation and a Founding Partner at Studio Dot.

He is currently exploring avenues of creative outlet through painting, writing poetry and going for occasional hikes for the love of the unique geology of Kachchh. Kiran is also actively involved with education institutions such as IIT, CEPT, IPSA and Karigarshala.

Looking for an early morning hike to the nearby hills and an insight into the geology, culture and history of Kachchh? Kiran is the person to contact.

Satya Vaghela: Co-host

Satya Vaghela is an architect and a founding partner at Studio Dot. Working with hands is something he picked up in his school days at Rishi Valley School (KFI – Krishnamurti Foundation India) and to spread the joy of working with hands he is embarking on a journey to create a platform for designers and artisans to collaborate, ideate and create at ‘Hands-on Collaborative’

Parth Mehta: Manager & Head of Guest Relations

Parth Mehta is the founder of Splendid Kutch Tourism & Hospitality, a traveller, explorer and a biker. He is the person to contact for exploring the unseen parts of Kachchh and charting out an itinerary. Parth is one of the few people in the hospitality industry in Kachchh that promotes responsible and sensitive tourism. Aagantuk is partnering with Splendid Kutch Tourism & Hospitality for the shared value of responsible and sensitive tourism.

Parth since the inception has been contributing professionally to community run village resort Shaam-e-Sarhad Village Resort’ in Hodka Village, & ‘Rann Visamo Village Resort’ which has been an iconic beacon for tourists and has been the backdrop for popular ‘Kachchh nahi dekha toh kuch nahi dekha’ ad campaign by Gujarat Tourism.

Tariff & Applicable Policies

Tariffs : All rooms and common spaces are not air-conditioned.

There are two ways you can book# with us:

  • Entire property: INR 6,000/- with double occupancy for three rooms.
  • Independent Room only: INR 2,500/- per room for double occupancy.

Add-on Services: any add on services are subject to availability.

Extra bed: INR 750/- up to one extra bed per room can be arranged. The extra bed will be a floor mattress.

Breakfast: INR 150/ per head. Subject to availability. We may not be able to arrange for breakfast on spot check-ins post 8:00pm.

*Early check-in and late check-out available on request and subject to availability and maybe chargeable by the hour.

Note:

For check-in valid original Govt. issued ID (any Govt. issued ID with address) to be presented and scan copy is to be duly signed at the time of check-in of all individuals booking the property. For guests traveling from other countries, please present your valid passport and visa as proof of identity.

Being a homestay, we do not have special accommodation for drivers or domestic help accompanying the guest.

Payment Policies:

  • 25% to be paid to block your booking.
  • 100% payment to be made minimum 15 days in advance to confirm booking.
  • Bank detail will be provided at the time of blocking.
  • While we encourage advance booking, spot bookings are entertained against 100% payment at the time of Check-in. For ease of transaction you may pay by cash or over Google Pay (Google Pay accepts funds from most Indian banks and BHIM and UPI enabled payment services such as Paytm, Airtel Money, Samsung Pay and many more.) Due to limited accommodation we operate on advance booking, breakfast may not be available for check-ins post 8:00pm.

 

Children Policies:

  • For children below 6 years stay complimentary with parents without extra bed.
  • Above 6 years will count as an extra person.
  • Complimentary stay for children below 6 years will be applicable upon presenting a valid Govt. ID.

Cancellations/Amendments: Please note that in case of cancellation or amendments of bookings for any reason, the percentage of total booking amount mentioned as below will be deducted from advance/will have to be paid in case the advance has not been deposited. Amendments are subject to availability.

  • 0-10 days prior to stay – 0% Refund
  • 11-15 days prior to stay – 50% Refund
  • 16-30 days prior to stay – 75% Refund
  • Over 30 days prior to stay – 100% Refund

Refund Policy: The refund process may take up to 14 working days. For refund a formal request must be sent over mail to our registered E-mail ID along with bank details. Bank charges/channel charges will be applicable.

Property Policies:

Strictly Prohibited*

  • Consumption of alcohol is not permissible on property.
  • Possession or consumption of narcotics as per NDPS Act.
  • Smoking is not permissible on property.
  • Pets are not permitted at the property.
  • Guests are not to entertain personal guests at the property between 9pm-9am.

* Host reserves rights to vacate and void your booking if there is violation of the above-mentioned points.

Our Expectations*

  • Guests are requested to avoid loud music and conversation after 9pm as it may disturb the neighbours and those who are sharing the property.
  • We do not have power back up, so we expect your co-operation during power outage.
  • Kachchh is a dry and arid region; hence there is shortage of water supply. While we strive to give you a seamless experience, we request to use water judiciously.
  • We follow a 3-day linen cycle due to our water situation.
  • Consumables such as sugar, tea, coffee, dairy creamer sachets and dry snacks are replenished every day.
  • All waste is to be thrown in bins, we request you to not dispose diapers, sanitary pads and wrappers in the commode as it may result in choking of the drainage lines.
  • Being a family house, we do not encourage loud music and hosting of parties.
  • Please keep the main house door locked at night for your safety.

On request

  • Iron box for ironing clothes will be provided on request. (not chargeable)
  • Extra-bed will be arranged on request at the time of booking. (chargeable as per tariffs at the time of booking)
  • Cotton pillows will be provided on request. (not chargeable)
  • Basic provisions for the kitchen prior to arrival on request. (chargeable and subject to availability – Service charges may apply)
  • Quilt/comforters provided are queen size. For individual use the quilt/comforter will be provided on request.

House Rules

The property may be shared with other guests if you book independent rooms, in such scenarios we expect you to be sensitive to the others sharing the property and respect each other’s privacy and belongings.

At the time of independent booking the kitchen, living room and the utility spaces are to be shared. Guests who like to cook are requested to wash the vessels and clean the kitchen platform after use for it to be available for use for others sharing the property. Loud conversations and music are to be avoided at such times for others comfort.

Space & Amenities

Spaces:

Registration: This space is at the ground floor where we receive you and register you for check-in. The space is shared with Studio Dot an architectural design studio run by us.

Kitchen: Our kitchen is vegetarian to respect our neighbours’ comfort and we expect you also to value our neighbours’ comfort. The kitchen is equipped with induction cooktop, cookware, refrigerator, RO filter for drinking water. Upon prior request we can help arrange for packaged/pre-processed food items so the kitchen is stocked as per your taste (this service will be chargeable as per actual and will be subject to availability.)

Utility space: The utility space has an ironing table for which iron will be provided on request and a space to hand wash clothes.

Living room: The living room is furnished to relax and enjoy a hearty conversation with friends and family. There a dining table in the living room that can accommodate up to 6 people.

Rooms: All rooms are independent with attached bathroom. All rooms are ideal for double occupancy, for extra bed we provide a floor mattress upon prior request. The bathrooms have running hot water, towels and toiletries such as soap and shampoo. Closets with keys are provided in each room for safe keeping of personal belongings.

    • – Tariffs are subject to change without prior notice. The host reserves rights to charge premium for long weekends, festive holidays or lunar phases.
    • – – Host/Management reserves rights to vacate/void booking without any refund whatsoever if there is any violation under the heads ‘Property Policies’ and ‘Booking Policies’.
    • – No claims whatsoever shall be entertained in case of any cancellation/strike/non-availability of the permit/unforeseen climatic conditions.
    • – Guests are requested to keep personal belongings under lock and key in the closet space provided. Neither the host/management are liable for loss/damage of guest’s property or belonging.
    • – Any and all damages to the property are subject to fine after assessment of damage by the host or management at the time of check-out.
    • – Check-in time: 12:00 pm, Check-out time: 10:00 am.
    • – Due to limited accommodation, a deposit of 100% is required to secure confirmed bookings.
    • – All reservations requests will be tentative, unless accompanied by 100% advance payment.
    • – Child below 6 years can stay complimentary in parent’s room without extra bed.
    • – We reserve the right to release/shift or refuse to entertain the bookings done without advance deposit.
    • – We reserve the right to offer an alternate/similar/at par accommodation in unavoidable situation(s), or whatsoever different reasons.
    • – Hard copy of invoices will be handed only at the time of check-out after the host/management inspects the room for any damages or loss of inventory.
    • – Receipt of funds will be acknowledged only over email only.
    • – When you block/confirm booking it is understood that you have read our policies thoroughly and agree to the terms, conditions and policies set forth by the host/management.
