Shaam E Sarhad Village Resort - Hodka Village

Shaam-e-Sarhad – the name means “Sunset on the Border”. the village resort that has been hand-crafted by the local community to replicate the vernacular traditions of architecture and design. All living spaces are designed to showcase local talent and are decorated handicrafted. The stay is designed to be comfortable.

The local community staffs manage the resort to the last detail. Indulge in the rare pleasure of staying in Bhungas, Mud Tents, and Family Cottages crafted with indigenous resources.

Accommodation at Shaam-e-Sarhad is comfortable, simple and clean. The rooms are set up in local style and decorated with crafts of the area, creating an authentic atmosphere. There are different types of 12 accommodations at the resort: Eco-friendly Mud Tents, Family cottages, Suite Bhungas and Standard Bhungas. All of them have attached bathrooms with a western-style toilet and shower with running water.

The Bhungas are circular mud huts with sloping roofs, typical of the Banni region. Each Bhungas has a private open space with arm chairs, an ideal place to relax and look out into nothingness. The Tents and Bhungas can normally accommodate 2 people, and the Family cottage 4 people. Extra beds are available on request. There are total of 6 Tents, 2 Family Cottage, 3 Suite Traditional Bhungas and 1 Standard Bhunga at the resort.

The circular mud hut with conical roofs made of grass thatch is an indigenous invention that tackles the extreme climate. The Bhungas keep cool during the hot Kutchi summers and warm in the cold desert winters. Fixed King Size Double Bed made out of mud bricks, and adjoin bathroom. Suitable for 02 Adults and an extra bed can be adjusted.


Village house with grass thatched roofs are designed for quadruple family group, simple accommodations with a fixed King size Double bed and two twin beds made out of mud bricks and attached bathroom. Suitable for 04 Adults and an extra bed can be adjusted.


Tents are designed with mud adobe bricks, have mud beds (kind size double bed), mud sofas and private bathroom with western-style toilet. Local handicrafts upholsteries are giving colorful welcome. Suitable for 02 Adults and an extra bed can be adjusted.


The circular hut with conical roof made of grass thatched. Smaller in size than suite bhungas, decorated with indigenous mud-mirror art in simple way, have fixed mud bed and adjoin private bathroom with western style toilet. Suitable for 02 Adults and an extra bed can be adjusted.

Cancellations/ Amendments

Please note that in case of cancellation or amendments of bookings for any reason, the percentage of total booking amount mentioned as below will be deducted from advance/ will have to be paid in case the advance has not been deposited.

1. 40 days priors of check in dates – 20% deduction of total amount.

2. 30 days priors of check in dates – 30% deduction of total amount.

3. 15 days priors of check in dates – 50% deduction of total amount.

4. Less than 15 days or No Shows – NO Refund.

5. After Check In to resort, if any cancellation for same day or next day guests has to pay full amount as per the current tariff.

Refund Policy:

As we will get written cancellation request from registered guests, refund process will complete within 7-10 working days through the original mode of payment.


What is not permissible – Alcohol & Pets

Alcohol is not served at the resort and consumption is not permissible to the resort premises.

* Pets are not permitted at the resort.

* A Double Bed Bhunga (Mud Hut) occupies One Double Bed and sleeps maximum 2 + 1extra bed.

* A Double Bed Eco-friendly Tent occupies One Double Bed and sleeps maximum 2 +1 extra bed.

* A Quadruple Family Cottage occupies One Double Bed and two twin beds maximum 4+1 extra bed.

* A Double Bed Standard Bhunga occupies One Double Bed and Sleeps maximum 2 + 1 extra bed.

Terms & Conditions

* The management of resort reserves all rights to modify/alter the tariff/prices during long weekends, festive periods like Christmas, Diwali, New Year, Holi, etc. Without any prior notice.

* No claims whatsoever shall be entertained in case of any cancellation/strike/non-availability of the permit / unforeseen climatic conditions.

* Check-in time: 12:00 hrs, Check-out time: 10:00 Hrs

* Due to limited accommodation, a deposit of 100% is required to secure confirmed bookings.

* All reservations requests will be tentative unless accompanied by 100% advance payment.

* Child below 5 years can stay complimentary in parent’s room without extra bed.

* Child (6 to 12 yrs of age) will be charged as per the declared tariff of the particular year, with or without extra bed.
We reserve the right to release / shift or refuse to entertain the bookings done without advance deposit.

* We reserve the right to offer an alternate/similar/at par accommodation in an over booking situation, or on non-availability of rooms for whatsoever different reasons.

The resort is situated toward rural location; it is 63km from Bhuj city, Bhuj Airport and Railway station Around 20km before to Great Rann of Kutch.
